Terms & Conditions

At The Bunny Hutch Rabbit Rescue, our Terms & Conditions outline the guidelines and expectations for visitors to our website and for those engaging with our rescue services. These terms are designed to establish a clear understanding of the legal relationship between our organization and our website visitors, as well as individuals seeking to adopt or support our rescue efforts.

Adoption Policies & Guarantees

I cannot guarantee the health, weight, or temperament of any animal adopted.

All animals are adopted out as healthy to the best of my knowledge. I do not knowingly adopt out sick animals.

Once an animal leaves my care, I cannot provide any health guarantees. Rabbits and other small animals are unpredictable by nature, and I am not responsible for care, handling, or health decisions made after adoption.

I am not responsible for any veterinary fees incurred at any point during the animal’s life.

Baby rabbits are difficult to sex accurately at a young age. I do my very best, but mistakes can happen, and I make no guarantee on the sex of baby bunnies.

I reserve the right to cancel a sale or adoption at any time, without explanation.

Return Policy (Mandatory)

ANY bunny or small animal adopted from The Bunny Hutch MUST be returned to us if you can no longer care for them.

Animals may not be:

Turned loose

Dumped

Given away

Sold

Taken to another rescue or shelter

Returns are considered a re-surrender and no refund will be given.

It is the adopter’s responsibility to return the animal to us.

Payments, Fees & Refunds

All adoption fees, payments, and deposits are final and non-refundable.

No refunds, replacements, or exchanges will be given for any reason.

Rabbits or other animals will not leave my care without payment in full.

Please bring the exact cash amount if paying in cash, as I do not keep change on hand.

Accepted Payment Methods

Holds & Deposits

NO HOLDS without a deposit. All deposits are non-refundable.

Baby Rabbits

Babies may be held with a deposit until they are ready to go home.

If the bunny is not picked up on the agreed-upon date, it will be placed back up for adoption and no refund will be given.

If I agree to hold past the pickup date, a $5 per day boarding/feed fee will apply.

Adult Rabbits & Animals

If a deposit is placed or payment is made in full, the animal will only be held for 24 hours, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon.

If not picked up within 24 hours, the animal will be placed back up for adoption and the deposit or payment will be forfeited.

Change of Mind

If you place a deposit or pay in full and later change your mind, the payment will be forfeited.

Pick-Up & Public Safety

I am not open to the public.

All adoptions, pickups, and surrenders are done in a public location.

You must bring a safe carrier or container to transport your bunny home. I do not supply cages, carriers, or boxes.

Spay / Neuter Policy

Occasionally, rabbits that come to us are already fixed.

We do not provide spay/neuter services and do not include them in adoption fees.

We do not provide certificates or reimbursements for spay/neuter costs.

Any spay or neuter procedures are the responsibility of the adopter.

Pregnancy & Rescue Rabbits

Rabbits are adopted out as PET ONLY.

If a rescue rabbit is accidentally adopted out pregnant, the babies fall under this same agreement.

The babies must be returned to The Bunny Hutch once they are old enough to be weaned.

Babies may not be sold, given away, or rehomed independently. Anyone interested in adopting must go through The Bunny Hutch directly.

Care Requirements

All rabbits and animals adopted from The Bunny Hutch must be kept as INDOOR PETS.

Proper housing, nutrition, and humane handling must be provided for the animal’s entire life.

Outdoor housing is not acceptable due to predators, parasites, and extreme temperatures.

Proper enclosures are required — no tiny cages. X-pens are recommended over small wire cages.

Ceramic water bowls are preferred over water bottles.

Diet

Proper diet includes Timothy hay, rabbit pellets, and fresh vegetables.Bunnies under 6 months should not be given fruits or vegetables due to sensitive digestive systems.

Too many fruits or veggies (even for adults) can cause GI upset, bloat, or GI stasis.

Grooming

No baths. Rabbits are self-cleaning and bathing is extremely stressful and dangerous for them.

Children & Handling

Small children must always be supervised around rabbits.

Rabbits should never be placed on high furniture or bedding where they could fall.

Rabbits are fragile animals and must be handled carefully.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. I am always available to chat

Please understand this isn’t me being very strict this just helps with people backing out or getting a bunny/animal and not being ready so they are not being passed around.

This agreement is subject to change at anytime
